Lily had taken a cab back to the house a few hours after Damien and Daniel had returned. She was a big girl, she could take care of herself. She was angry and had needed a little time to blow off some steam before going back and her mom getting the wrong idea about something. But speaking of wrong ideas, who the hell did he think he was kissing her like that then saying sorry and slinking off with his tail between his legs. Just thinking about it infuriated her all over again.
The next morning she’d avoided him when at all possible which wasn’t that hard. The house was huge. After lunch she’d gone back to her room and changed into some workout clothes then went to the gym just off the pool room. It was huge with just about everything imaginable needed. One of the perks of living in one place all the time she supposed.
She pulled off her t-shirt, tossing it over a bench press as she started adding weighs to it. She worked for muscle tone more so than strength anymore. She was fast and when she hit someone they knew it, not just because of the force behind it but because she knew where to hit someone. She pushed herself while she worked out, channeling all her irritation into it until her skin had a gleam of sweat on it. She was dressed in a sports bra and a pair of tight fitting pants, hair pulled back in a high pony tail and her feet bare while she kicked a heavy punching bag repeatedly near the top, stretching her legs out with the exercise.
~~
To be honest. He didn't mean to kiss her, it was just … the moment. Then before he realized it he was kissing her. It was…. difficult to explain. Sure, he had feelings for her. But they'd just met that day! It was odd. It was something he never felt before. He wasn't prepared for that. Nothing had prepared him for this! No research, no words of wisdom. No Training! It was all confusing and he didn't know how to really deal with it.
Her on the other hand, did she know more about this? Sighing as he sat on his bed reading a book. He hadn't left his room since he came home after this … out going. Thinking about it was doing nothing, it only led to more confusion. Maybe if he went for a swim, he'd be able to figure out what to do now. Grabbing his trunks and sliding on a tanktop he'd start towards the pool area. But to get there, meant going through the gym. He had no idea that Lily was in there working out. Moving into the room, he'd be quiet as a mouse when he heard someone beating on the leather wrapped punching bag.
Maybe he could just sneak by….
~~
Men… no, BOYS. They were horrible and ridicules and completely infuriating and cute. Why were the worst of them always cute? It was more than that though with Damien. Sure, he was handsome, physically fit, and eyes to die for, but that was just the wrapping on the whole package. He looked at things differently, he didn’t try to fill empty space with words that didn’t need it, he tried to understand things that he came across. You could see it in his face, the way he analyzed things. He could fight as well as she could which was always a nice bonus and lips, oh god, the lips.
She kicked the bag harder once more before stopping, breaking slow and hard with flushed cheeks. Her hands where in fists at her sides, wrapped with cloth from where she’d been punching the bag that had been taking her kicks before. Her whole body seemed to come to attention all at once though, shoulders tightening and her back straightening up. Turning her head to the side he saw her look at him through her peripheral vision of her brown eye.
~~
Freezing when he knew he was spotted.
What was he supposed to do?
What were the options? The door behind him was already closed. The only other exit was on the other side and it led to the pool. But she was near that door. He was still for the moment trying to figure out where to go. What to say, what to do! Damien's social niceties were little to non-existent. Watching her for the longest moment.
What was the right thing to do?
What was he supposed to say?
This was beyond confusing, why was everything complicated so much?! It wasn't her fault, it was all his for over analyzing things.
~~
She watched him staring back at her for a long sixty seconds before she turned her head forward again. He could see the muscles in her sides and back flexing as she stood there, fingers relaxing and reballing into a fist a few times. Her chin tipped up as she took a deep breath, then lifted her hands to start punching the bag again.
There was a fluidity to her actions, even with the rough punches that she threw. He’d seen firsthand just what she could do in a fight and how graceful she moved. Comparing that to this it wasn’t hard for him to see that something was off or bothering her.
~~
Something was off. Her punches, while sound were off. He couldn't pin point it, but he also didn't do anything unsure what he should do. Pursing his lips, is this when they were supposed to talk? They were supposed to spar, and he wondered if he should say something. Analyzing everything, he'd continue watching her trying to figure out the solution to this.
He was still there watching her as he grabbed his towel and tossed it off to the side.
Maybe they would work out their problems with a spar match….
"Spar?" asking as he gestured. Through another door opening would be just a large room and a mat. Along the walls were various wooden weapons. Though, he had a feeling they weren't going to be needing them.
~~
She could feel him staring at her, it made that spot between her shoulders itch and crawl. She wanted to turn around and scream at him to stop and go find something else to do but she refrained. Causing more trouble with him wasn’t going to fix anything. Besides, she’d done nothing wrong, he’d been the jerk.
He finally spoke and she hit the bag one more time before turning sideways to look at him. He wanted to spar. Was he just going to go on like he hadn’t grabbed her and kissed her with all the manly unf. She flushed faintly, stepping over to where she’d left her towel and picked it up, dabbing her face as she started walking toward the sparing room without a word.
~~
Walking to the middle of the ring, he pull his tank off and toss it off to the side. There wasn't much more to be said as he shifted into a defensive position, his eyes never leaving her as he moved around on the mat. His footsteps were still quiet as he moved around with her. She was quiet, as well as she should be. He was waiting for her to make the first strike. The first few always told him how the other person was going to take the spar. To 'feel' the person out. He honestly had no idea why she was mad, was she still mad about last night? He just wanted them to move on beyond whatever this was between them and hopefully he could continue doing this without making a complete fool of himself.
"I apologize about last night… it…. wasn't my place to put you into that position." that's why he had apologized, not that he kissed her. That he pulled her into a position where he placed his lips on her without any kind of asking or permission. That's how this all worked, right? It's what mother taught him. Don't touch people without asking first.
~~
She tossed her towel to the side, walking around the outer edge of the ring, circling him slowly with critical eyes. She looked him over slowly, eyes trailing over the muscles of his chest and arms, the curve of the toning that he’d put into them. It made her flush, cheeks pinking and well, she hoped he’d take the excuse that it was just cold in the room. Something about him made him completely irresistible to her.
Then he apologized… again and she gave him a strange look. “In what position?” Her voice had a cool edge to it. What was he on about now? The position of him making her feel like she’d done something wrong? Like she was some idiot?
She circled closer to him, still the same slow walk, feet crossing over one another until she darted in, leading with a kick of her long legs then dropping down to sweep his feet out from under him.
~~
"An intimate position without permission. I … should have asked." saying as he easily blocked her series of kicks, but would get swept. Not letting that stop him, he'd flip back up to his feet and move in with a series of kicks and punches. All aimed at her body, her arms, her upper legs. Aiming to wear her down. To weaken her stance. He wasn't going full strength, when she blocked, she'd feel the intensity of the hits. They were strong, sound, and placed just right.
There was no indication that he was going to stop as he then performed a series of kicks. Damien moved with ease, like if the air didn't even stop him. His face remained that cool, calm expression. Analyzing every move he did, every counter she did. Always looking for a weakness, a chink in the armor for him to exploit.
~~
“What?” She gave him a quizzical look as she stepped back as he kicked back up to his feet, standing lose with her hands pulled up ever so slightly, relaxed and waiting for his attack. She tried to give away as little with her stance as possible. “Wait, are you apologizing because you didn’t think I liked it?” She was pretty sure she gave it back as good as she’d gotten it in the kiss and was one hundred percent sure there’d been no hesitation.
She blocked the incoming punches, tucking her arms in close to her body like a boxer. He changed to his kicks and she danced away from most of them, one catching the side of her knee and forcing her down onto it. She grabbed his next kick, trying to flip him down onto the mat with a twist of his hip.
~~
She'd flip him onto the mat, but at the same time he'd grab her hand with his foot, pull her forward, then rolled her over him until he was ontop of her. His knee's pinning her hips giving him full control over her body as he then pinned her arms over her head, leaving his head to stay a few inches above hers. "No." he'd simply say in response to her almost forgotten question. He would watch her for long moments, just studying her features. "I'm…not good at social interactions." he'd whisper to her, her hips locked so she wouldn't be able to move her legs well enough to grab him if she had tried.
"I…enjoy your company Lily." whispering "I believe though, I had violated a rule my mother had told me. It was not to touch someone without permission." well, outside normal touching that is. And he was pretty sure that kiss was outside normal touching. "That's….why I apologized. I am sorry." and without even thinking he'd smile slightly. "But…I enjoyed it. Do you mind if I attempt again? I promise not to apologize. As I am asking permission."
~~
Quite the position she found herself in now. She took a deep breath, suddenly finding it difficult to breath though it had nothing to do with any kind of physical exertion. She stared up at him through the very small space between their faces, watching him as he studied her. She was excited in more than one way though trying not to show it.
“I never would have guessed.” She said sarcastically as she flexed her hands, pushing up against him while her hips twisted. That whisper though, made her close her eyes, arch her back up off the floor as she looked for an opening to get free.
She stopped fighting him for a moment, her mix matched eyes looking up at him, and a smile tugged up the corner of her mouth. “Sometimes it’s okay not to ask permission when you know someone will welcome the touch.” This guy was… well, he was a social nightmare waiting to happen but it was cute none the less.
He asked if he could ‘attempt’ it again and she couldn’t suppress the giggle from bubbling past her lips. Her hands flexed again, pushing harder against his grip to make him shift his weight. She rolled her hips up, freeing one leg which wrapped around his then with a twist of her hips and shoulders she flipped them over so she was on top, straddling him with her hand still holding his.
“You never have to ask permission to kiss me, Damien.” And to emphasize her point she pressed her mouth against his. It wasn’t the powerful sudden kiss from the night but it made her point. Her hands slowly let go of his as they moved to rest on the mat on either side of his head to hold herself up.
~~
He was about to say something when she kissed him. It was sudden, but not as power as the previous night. Licking his lips "Well, what if the kiss would have been unwanted?" asking lifting a brow, but smiling just slightly as laid there, looking up at her. This was pretty weird. But exciting at the same time. Sliding his leg up along her, it wasn't long before his knee was between them and with a swift grab, he'd roll her from on top of him to where he was on top of her. His hands once again pinning hers down as he would capture one of her legs with his own as he watched her again.
She was beautiful. There was no denying that.
After a moment, he'd be pressing his lips down against hers, his hands releasing from her own as they instead interlaced with hers, squeezing them gently.
~~
“Generally you can tell when it’s unwanted. You watch people, read their body language.” He was always watching her so she figured it was just something he did and she wasn’t that much of a special case when it came to that.
He reversed them again and she looked up at him from her back which wasn’t exactly as bad place to be. Her free leg drew up along his hip. Her hands squeezed his back tightly as she leaned up into the kiss trying to invite that same passion that he’d shown last night.
Funny how just a few minutes before she’d been ready to kick the crap out of him and now she was ready to do… other extraneous activates to him.
~~
Smiling as he broke the kiss to breathe. His hand sliding down along her arm, then down along her cheek as he slowly pulled himself off her. "I do not wish to hurt your feelings again…but I think it would be wise if we wait for… other activities…" saying quietly, his fingers trailing down her cheek "I…hope you understand and you are not angry with me. " nodding as he pulled her up into a sitting position across from him as he watched her. "It is not that I don't… I think it will be better if we know each other better and understand each other." whispering to her. Hoping she wasn't going to be mad at him.
~~
As much as she would have liked to have continued and just let things happen as they happened he had a point and she was getting a head of herself. Something about him just confused everything inside. Generally she was the reserved one out of her friends.
“No, I’m not mad, you’re right.” She pulled her knees up slightly, leaning against them. “Getting to know each other, always a good thing.” Her cheeks where flushed pink. Thank god for a voice of reason.
The next morning she’d avoided him when at all possible which wasn’t that hard. The house was huge. After lunch she’d gone back to her room and changed into some workout clothes then went to the gym just off the pool room. It was huge with just about everything imaginable needed.
