After Ollie and Dinah departed ways, Ollie had a date with a certain brooding Lord of Gotham. The two weren't the best of friends, but good comrades, if you will. They've fought at each other's side a few times when things would crossover. but this was another level of weird in a world of weird. Showing up to the mansion, he'd get out of the town car and look around, giving a whistle. "You've really got it made, Bruce." saying to himself as he gave the house a look over before being let in by one Mr Alfred Pennysworth. After a quick banter, Alfred would suggest he look for Master Bruce in the cave. Where else would he be?
Walking down the steps, Ollie would take a look around "Remind me to find a cave in Star City." telling Bruce. Once he was down, he'd walk up next to Bruce at the terminal placing his gym bag on an empty shelf. "I wouldn't have come if I didn't think you needed to see this." pulling out a small flash drive, the arrow and the drivers license. "Found this on some punk who spewed bugs and shot energy." the flash drive would have a video of a nearby security cam, catching everything. Including the bursting into flames bit.
"He said something about Trigon.
Ring any bells?"

Bruce spun in his chair that faced the massive wall of monitors and a extensive control system below. The famous "Bat-computer". His cowl was pulled back but he was wearing his suit and cape, 3 long jagged cuts ran the length of his cheek. He regarded Oliver as he spoke, as though trying to decide whether or not he should be annoyed that he'd invited himself in.
"The geological sediment lacks the necessary strength to build a stable cave" he answered flatly. Well, Bruce had never been particularly cheerful, nor inviting, but at least he wasn't yelling this time. "I assume you're here for a reason.."
Oliver was making himself at home, tossing his bad on the empty shelf and standing beside the console he'd been working at. Bruce turned back to the computer, though he listened attentively to everything he said, He stopped at the mention of Trigon and looked up at Oliver standing beside him.
He took the flash drive and plugged it into a flash drive, quickly bringing up the recorded security camera feed. A slight frown creased his brow as he watched the events unfold, he was wearing the same type of robe the two men he'd fought at the museum the previous night. Not that it'd been much of a fight.
"It does." He said, mildly, now too caught up on the work to be annoyed with his occasional comrade. "I was conducting an investigation on an unrelated crime boss when I found a coded book, it carried this symbol.."
Bruce brought up the image on one of the monitors, it was a rough scrawled T enclosed within a red circle.
"And it mentioned the name of a demon, Trigon several times. At first I thought it might be some low rent satanic cult following some fictional, mythical creature... But... I found evidence that this particular cult has cells all over the nation and I prevented two cultists from stealing a ruby from Gotham's Museum of Natural History last night.." His hand scratched absently at his chin just below the scratches that marred his face. he failed to mention the part where a woman clad in leather stole it from under his nose, kneed him in the groin and then took off laughing into the night. The memory caused his jaw to set in an annoyed look.
"So far, it's all I could find. I did not have time to interrogate the two would be thieves, the police were too fast in arriving... For once."

He knew Bruce wasn't the most … hospitable man he'd never known. Bruce… well, he was an interesting man. It wasn't like the two of them were going to go out and have a cup of coffee, discussing the various finer points of business. It was a mutual friendship, well, it's what Ollie considered it. Listening to him, he'd nod. "Yeah. Now that you mention it, I've seen a few of these symbols popping up in Star City. I thought it was just some new gang sign.
Starting to make sense though. There was a burglary at the Star City Museum of History too, there was a traveling display of all different artifacts from the Star City Area. One in particular.." trailing off as he pulled his phone out and brought up an article before porting it over to the Bat-Computer's monitor. "There's a book here, they've estimated it at well over 3,000 years old. It's supposed to be some author's take on all the ancient demons, but the curator just brushed it off as just a history relic." moving the article down to show a cover of the book with the same T in a red circle scrawl on it.
"I would have stopped them, but I was across town dealing with bank robbery. By the time I got done with that, the police had already arrived." pressing his lips.
"So, what do you think is going on? They're not going to try and summon a demon, are there? I mean, I know it’s a weird world. But Demons?"
===============
"I don't know" he admitted honestly, and that was the part that scared him the most. Bruce was a practical man not given to bouts of superstition but he'd seen enough strange things in his time as Batman to know just about anything was possible. "I want to believe they are a bunch of crackpots..." he didn't finish the thought, but it was evident that he believed they were considerably more than that.
He looked over the article, bringing it up on another monitor, focusing on the picture of the book. It was possible the books were related, though the one he had found was written in Punchinello's own handwriting.
"They were attempting to steal a red ruby, they called it the demon stone.." A summoning was beginning to look more likely, but Bruce was far from knowledgeable in the areas of occult mysticism. He had a tenuous contact with one man, but he'd turned up murdered several weeks past. So much for that lead. he had a daughter, however, perhaps he'd left her a wealth of knowledge? Of course he wouldn't even know where to begin locating her. "Whatever they're up to, it can't be good." he glanced over at Oliver and sighed silently.
"Since you're already here you might as well make yourself useful and help me track these cultists, just don't get in the way."

'Since you're already here you might as well make yourself useful and help me track these cultists, just don't get in the way.' Bruce said. There was no please, or asking. Just telling him, Ollie grinned to him "Not a problem, Brought my gear anyway. Figured I'd see what the finer sides of Gotham are." saying as he moved behind a screen to change into his outfit, It wasn't much. But it worked for what he needed.
Walking back out a few minutes later, his bow folded up on a holster attached to his leg, pulling out a pair of high tech sunglasses, he'd put them on and activate them. "Your city, Your lead." like Bruce would have it any other way.
A Ruby called the Demon Stone. Well, like this isn't getting weirder and weirder by the moment. Whoever this Trigun dude was, he was serious business. And his cultists were just as serious as him, it seemed. Hopefully it was just a bunch of whack jobs. Because this was way out of his realm, he could deal with the occasional meta-human villain. But magic? Ugh. He hated magic. "Where are we headed to first?" asking as he followed man. His sun glasses picking up little bits of information here and there.
He had to admit though, it'd be nice working with Bruce again, if anything. Ollie'll pickup a few tips from the man. And learn 'not to get in the way'
He grunted as he stood from the chair, pulling his cowl over his head. Oliver was walking from out behind the screen in his green ensemble, like that won't attract undue attention he thought sourly, but said nothing.
"Just don't get comfortable" Bruce had always been possessive of Gotham and he didn't like other 'masks' prowling in his backyard. He tolerated Oliver though, which was a lot more than could be said of anyone else in their line of work.
"This is where we split up. I have something for you to do. I have another piece of business I have to attend to.... Alone." His tone carried a note of finality.
He thought idly of Helena whom would be leaving within the next few days, it pulled at his heart yet they had avoided one another like the plague. perhaps neither one wanted to face the reality. His thoughts then drifted to the cat-thief, he owed her, she bruised his pride far more than his body. She was the first to steal from him and get away, and use his own devices in the process. He could have cursed himself a fool but he preferred to think on the catching par rather than the knee to the groin and the strangely passionate kiss the mysterious thief had given him.
"There's someone I need you to find; Her name is Zatana Zatara, her father was an acquaintance and an expert on occult mysticism. He's dead, but I'm hoping his daughter will have some of the same knowledge. Murdered actually from what I understand, it might be connected to this... Trigon. She might ask a favor of you before she'll help you, do it if you can. Just don't get yourself killed."
There was another man he needed to see, one he couldn't bring Oliver too. He preferred to keep a low profile, but he might have some knowledge that Zatara might not. he knew the city even better than Bruce, he was closer to the street and probably heard more from the criminal element. The old man might even want to go a few rounds.

"Got it. Find Zatana Zatara. Sounds good. I'll get it done." telling Bruce as he moved towards one of the unused motorcycles. Pulling the helmet on, he'd activate the comm inside and link it to his own contact back in Star City. After a few revs, Ollie would take off down the path leading out of the cave. Maybe Ollie could get something built like this back home… he had to admit, it had a certain allure. But the thought did come back to him, what was Bruce doing? He thought it curious, but he wasn't one to push.
