Robert and Dinah had been travelling through Europe on the rumor of a new Bat in town. They were raised not to be heroes, but to protect each other in a world where heroes weren't around. "C'mon, Din. You ready? I was thinking of running the roofs in London. I overheard a dealer was going to see his supplier tonight, that a huge shipment was coming in. If we get our cards right. We could probably kill the shipment and toss these yanks into the Tower of London." Rob would grin at her as he pulled out his collapsible from his suit case.
He had a modified dark green tunic that he found while they were travelling. Added a hood and with some sportswear, he had armor. It was very patchwork stuff, but it worked. The arrows on the other hand, were few and far in between. They didn't have much money. Just barely enough to feed and provide a roof over their heads. It was one rooms for the two of them. Which was nothing new, they'd been sleeping in the same rooms on and off for as long as he could remember.
It's also what sparked parts of their friendship that went beyond that level. As they really had nobody else they could be honest and confide in. Or, at least that's how he always saw it.
~~
Dinah stretched her arms over her head as she lounged on the single large bed in their cramped hotel room. Conner and Mia had long since given up trying to keep the two of them settled and at home so they just asked them to call and check in once in a while. It suited everyone better in the long run. Both she and Rob were to restless to sit around, they always had been, long into their teenage years and now into their twenties. For the last two years they'd been riding all over Europe on their bikes. If she had to think about it, it was the best time of her life.
“You just want the chance to kick some ass.” She smirked. “Sounds like fun.”
Pushing up she got to her feet and moved over to her bags, opening her's out she dragged out her suit. A dark red leather body suit, armored parts to strap on for vital areas and a hood much like his. Red and green, tributes to the father's they'd never had the opportunity to meet.
“And I know this is just to get out of taking me clubbing tonight. We're still going, if not tonight, tomorrow night.”
~~
"Oh, come on. Do we really need to? Last time we clubbed we were in Budapest, and that's something I'm never going to forget. And I still can't dance, despite your best at teaching me. Sure, I can land a triple kick combo. But getting me to dance is still a lost art. I know your mom tried teaching me." saying as he pulled on the quiver over his back and put in the arrows in it. "And I do want to kick some ass, we just got here, and we've been driving for 12 hours straight. I need to run and do something dangerous."
Europe was a dangerous place, most of the countries had fallen into something of a dark age. So, the kids really needed to rely on each other to get through it alive. They were really two parts of a whole. "You take any longer and I think we just might have to go clubbing again. I know all you want to do it try that new skirt you got while we passed through Rotterdam." telling her as he looked out the window. They were in one of the worst parts of London, it was all they could afford.
Supposedly there was money, but that was all locked away in the states under some pretty heavy duty security. Hopefully it'd at least be enough to buy them a house. Not that he minded staying in the same room with her. But, it'd be nice to have space.

“Okay, the dancing we do in the underground clubs doesn't exactly count as dancing. You can fuck so you can dance like they do in the clubs.” She snorted at him as she started pulling on her suit and armor, throwing her clothes at him as she took them off. Modesty was lost on her, long with a lot of other things but she liked to think it made her quirky. Walking over to him she tossed her shirt over his shoulder and leaned over to whisper in his ear, “Besides, I thought you liked being in the middle of all those hot bodies while a bunch if girls rubbed up on you. But if not I can go by myself, I'm sure I can find some other more accomindating guys.” Taunting him almost always worked, he knew it, she knew it, it was just a fact of life.
Turning away she pulled her suit up over her arms and settled it into place before zipping up the front. Attaching her arm guards she picked up her bow and slid her quiver into place on her back, tightening the strap. Keeping her bow folded up she pushed it into the holster on her hip and clipped it in then flicked her hood up and pushed her glasses onto her face.
“Keep that smart mouth talking and you'll be sleeping on the floor with the cockroaches.”
~~
"You're a funny girl. You know that?" looking at her over his shoulder when she tossed her shirt over his shoulder, shaking his head he'd toss the shirt back onto the bed. She really did have him, and he had her. It was a complicated thing, but they both enjoyed what it gave them. "Fine, fine. We go clubbing after this. Should be only a couple hours." pulling on a leather flap over his chest, he'd snap it into place over the armor as he grinned looking at her. Placing his glasses on to match hers.
"Damn if we don't look good, huh?" she was a vixen, that was for sure. They grew up together, plain and simple. Closer than what siblings ever could. "We can get to the roof from the thick drain pipe. It should be more than enough to support our weight." telling her as he walked out of the room with her. Cradling his fingers together, as a step. She'd see the pipe easily. Once she was on it, he'd wait a moment and then climb up after her. Then a few moments later, they'd be on the roof top. "He said it was on the wharf." pointing out the direction.
"Should be simple enough. Bet I can beat you there." smirking as he grinned then took off towards the wharf.
~~
“Hilarious.” She smirked and rolled her eyes at him, suppressing the girlish giggle that threatened to bubble out. “Thank you.” And she won which was exactly what she wanted. A bad habit she'd inherited from her dad.
“I don't know, I think I look better.” She mused as she walked over to the window and pulled it open so she could look out and up the pipe. “One at a time, just in case.” She stepped into his hand and out the window, grasping the pipe and pulling herself up as she shimmied her way to the top and pulled over the ledge.
Years of running and training had paid off for both of them. They were both lean and fit, fast runners with high stamina. Their training had been speratic through the years when they found masters that were willing to work with them. Tempering their habits was the hardest thing and they hadn't broken all of them, but one thing that the masters had learned was that they worked together. Something about being raised together, being born the same day even if it was from different mothers had given them a connection. When they fought, they always knew what the other was doing, where the other was, and how to play off it. They were special in their own way.
She grabbed the back of his hood as he started to run and pulled back before taking off herself, waving over her shoulder by at him with a laugh. “Catch me if you can and maybe I'll give you a rub down before bed.”
~~
"ACK!"
He flailed for a moment as he then saw her shapely figure burst ahead of him. "Ohh! So not fair! CHEATER!" he yelled at her running after her, only a split hair behind her as he followed her, Just barley a step or two behind her. After a few minutes, he'd grin seeing something ahead. Wondering if she saw it too. Taking a chance on her not seeing it, he'd pick up a random rod and throw it as hard as he could at a clothes hanger that was held together by a tight rope. If he could hit it just right, he could have it run down and wrap around her. Enough to slow her down a moment as he then pushed ahead with a grin.
"Maybe I'll just give you that rub down instead. I mean, I wouldn't you to have too much fun now, would I?" smirking as he barley passed her up. They were just on the edge of the wharf now as he buffed his nails. There was still a chance for her to win, a satellite dish on its last legs could definetly give him enough of a distraction.
~~
“Now who's the cheater!” She yelled as she jumped the falling closeline, having to jump a nearby ac unit to avoid it completely, losing a few steps on him. But it didn't stop her from grinning from ear to ear. This was being alive, this was doing what they did best. Live till you die, her moto.
“I wouldn't argue against that.” She laughed and she ran along those few steps behind him waiting for her chance. She could have tripped him up along the way more than a few times but she curbed her need to win for the moment. Just as they got near the wharf edge she jumped on his back, her long legs wrapping around his waist, her arms around his shoulders so that he carried her over the invisible line.
“Tie. Again.” She smirked as she jumped down and smacked him on the ass, jogging ahead to peek down over the edge of the warehouse roof they'd stopped on. “Looks like you were right.”
~~
When she jumped on his back, he faulted for a few moments before regaining his balance and carrying them over the finish line. Laughing softly. When she jumped down and smacked his ass he'd smirk looking over at her. "I think we should talk about sexual harassment in the work place. I feel I'm being used." smirking as he came up next to her looking down at the drugs getting loaded into the truck. "How long does it take for the London PD to get things running? 15-20 minutes? Should be more than enough time to take out those men and pin them to the crimes."
Saying as he pushed back a bit of leather cloth to look at his clock. "Let's Sync." placing his hand out, he'd press a button that would hold the stop off watch. "And lets cut it down to 10 minutes, just to be safe. We'll make sure the cops get here. Just don't need to overestimate their times and give them our names." grinning as he opened the window once their clocks were in sync. "Ladies first." smirking as he gave her nice slap on the ass as she jumped in. Him close behind her.
Once they would land, they'd find themselves in the middle of a bunch of me who for the most part, looked confused. "Ready to make 'em cry?"
~~
“Probably but I doubt that manage will give a shit.” She smirked and gave him a randy look for good measure.
“That sounds about right. Hmmm. I say it takes us five minutes to get the bulk of them taken out and another three to clean up the stranglers, one to double check and that gives us a whole sixty seconds to get out of here. Sound good or did I just confuse you with to many numbers?” She teased before lifting her wrist to look at her watch. “Three, two, one. Sync.”
She gave him a glare over the top of her glasses before jumping and landing in the middle of the men loading boxes, Rob landing a few seconds after her. “Bet I get more than you.” She muttered under her breath.
Standing up into a round house she shattered a box of drugs one man was carrying then kicked back across and kicked him in the chest.
~~
"10 Bucks says you're on, Ginger." he muttered back to her as he flipped over a man to kick the man behind him straight on the chest before using that momentum to fling him back onto the man behind him slamming his fists into the man's temples. The last time he lost something like this to her… he tried to remember. All he could remember that it always deviated into some sort of sexual conquest with each other.
Pulling his bow out, he'd fire off three arrows catching various men by their cuffs before Robert would come in with a succession of kicks. Though, this didn't last long as one of the men brought what looked to be an old school tommy gun. "They've got guns!" he yelled as he stayed ahead of the spray of bullets before diving back behind a couple crates as they shot up behind him. Pulling out an arrow he'd wait until he had to reload, pull the arrow out, breathe, then let it fly.
The arrow landing straight in the barrel. Before the man could try and yank it out, Robert was already ontop of him. Landing his knee right into the man's temple sending him crumpling to the ground. "I think that's all of them."
~~
“I'll show you Ginger.” She muttered under her breath as she dropped another guy down at her feet. Turning she pulled her bow with perfect ease, clicking a button on the handle before reaching back to pull and arrow and fire it off. The net burst out of the tip almost instantly, wrapping around the man she'd aimed it at, tangling him up before turning to crack another in the face with the bow.
When he yelled guns she ducked behind the truck. She felt the vibration of the door slamming and grabbed the handle of the passanger side door and yanked it open. Reaching through the grabbed the would be driver, pulling him through and tossing him over her head with a punch to the gut on his way over.
“Clear over here too.” She called, giving one more look around. “Damn, you get the feeling this was to easy?”
~~
"Just a little." he said, looking around. "Regroup." saying as they met in the middle, his back to her as he continued scouting the location. "Of course it's too damn easy! Look!" and just then, a big, big man. Who looked at least twice their size came walking in at the end of the warehouse. "You know, if you would have kept your trap shut, we probably wouldn't be facing Hulk Jr down here. And I have a feeling he's not going to place nice." saying as he looked around. "I've got an idea. Uh. You… distract him. Adios!" he wasn't really leaving. But he'd jump over a few crates looking for something. He needed something big to hit this guy with. And just as he found it. "Get him over to the truck and try and get him inside it…" trailing off as the crane above them went into action. Making all kinds of noise. There was already a couple boxes attached…
Now, the trick was to get him into the back of the truck.
"Let me know when you're clear."
~~
“Oh please, this guy isn't Hulk Jr.” She rolled her eyes, giving the guy a once over. “He's an over-steroided German. See, blue eyes, blonde hair. Probably has the IQ of barbie too... an the sperm count of Ken.” And about that point she ducked the box he hurled at her head and jumped up into the back of the truck.
“Was it the IQ or the sperm count that hit a little close to home there buddy? Wanna come prove me wrong?” She smirked as she dragged the zipper on her suit down slowly to show the top peek of cleaveage and the guy came charging. Zipping back up quickly she grabbed a lose 2x4 and cracked him upside the head as he came up on her. He stumbled and fell into the back of the truck as she jumped out.
“Any time now genius.”
~~
Once she was clear, he'd drop about 20 tons of boxes, drugs and crane ontop of the truck. Smashing it and keeping him more than well contained. "Clean up. Then we'll get out of here. We've got 2 Minutes left." telling her as he snatched up his arrows and anything that could be used to trace back to them. When they were done, he'd look everything over. Drugs everywhere, no witness.. perfect. They'd catch them all red handed.
Couldn't get any easier than that. Firing off an arrow over the skylight, he'd grin grabbing her by the waist as they ascended towards the top. "Hey baby. How you doin?" smirking as he would wait for her to climb up and he'd then join her. Closing the window, he'd look around. "You know. I bet these underground clubs have all sorts of illicit activities that we can break up…" trailing off with a bit a grin.
A minute later, the cops would come crashing through the doors of the warehouse. "Not bad, Din. Not bad at all."
He had a modified dark green tunic that he found while they were travelling. Added a hood and with some sportswear, he had armor. It was very patchwork stuff, but it worked.
